Work Experience

Senior Computer Specialist / Broadcast Engineer – October 2008 – Present
WUCF-FM – University of Central Florida

  • Developed a custom script using LogParser that processes all streaming logfiles for SoundExchange.
  • Installed and configured a managed gigabit ethernet infrastructure with LACP and Fibre Uplinks.
  • Increased online stream availability and quality, almost doubling online listenership every year.
  • Implemented a PAD/PSD metadata system that integrates the station’s ENCO DAD Automation system into all streams, on-air broadcasts and live website playlist.
  • Integrated a networked storage and backup solution that supports deduplication, guarantees data redundancy, availability and disaster recovery. Increased storage capacity and throughput ten-fold.
  • Upgraded all of the station’s computer systems to meet current usability and security standards.
  • Developed web applications such as a live playlist, online donation tracking system and an RSS parser.
  • Configured and monitored all servers, workstations, data networks, and broadcast systems.
  • Assist users with the operation of station’s equipment.

  • Designed and maintained the program’s website “http://passer.ece.uprm.edu”, a WebCT course and an online feedback database to gather data from previous program participants.
  • Developed and installed several interactive multimedia systems for the UPRM Planetarium, including:
    • Two interactive kiosks with custom software and hardware designed for children.
    • Two large displays and a video server that updates content automatically from the internet.
    • Installation of a wired network for servers and a wireless network for users.
    • Updates to the museum area such as displays, electrical wiring, lighting, posters.
